To the Filming Locations of "Vicky Cristina Barcelona"

The cinema is one of the fastest ways to be transported to a parallel reality and experience new emotions. We have revisited one of the lightest, most ironic and most famous films set in Barcelona - "Vicky Cristina Barcelona". In this article you will find the 10 most popular locations from Woody Allen's Barcelona film.

1. El Prat airport is where the film begins. At just 15 seconds we see the wall of Terminal 2 with a mosaic by Joan Miró. In the background, the narrator explains how two different friends, Vicky and Cristina, ended up in Barcelona.

2. The redeeming Sagrada Familia, the Casa Mila, and the Joan Miró Foundation appear in the first 5 minutes of the film as the tourists admire the city.

3. Fundacio Tapies contemporary art gallery is where girls get their first glimpse of Javier Bardem's enigmatic hero.

4. Meet him in person at the "Four Cats" restaurant in the city's Gothic Quarter. It was once a favourite haunt of Catalan bohemians. Regulars included Antoni Gaudi, sculptor Julio Gonzalez and Pablo Picasso. The latter even helped design the menu, and the first exhibitions of his work were held here in 1900.

5. At the entrance to Parque Güell - with a mosaic salamander in the background - is where Vicky and Juan Antonio meet for the first time after their trip to Oviedo.

6. Sant Felip Neri Square, specifically the terrace of one of the city's most expensive hotels, the Neri. An entertaining scene was filmed there when Juan Antonio, in an outburst of affection, tried to stroke Cristina's leg under the table, but accidentally touched Vicky's leg.

7. At the Tibidabo amusement park, Vicky tells Juan Antonio about her heartache and discovers that he prefers to be with Cristina. The scene is shot against the backdrop of the famous red plane, the merry-go-round and sunny Barcelona.

8. With her fiancé, Vicky strolls through Barcelona, admiring the imposing façade of the Casa Mila and responding to Juan-Antonio's call on the flowery Rambla.

9. The Museu Nacional de Arte de Catalunya was the location for the scene where Judy tries to set Vicky up with the Spaniard.
